Rob Cooper Selected as 2016 30 Under 30 Award Recipient by The National Kitchen & Bath Association

NKBA 30 Under 30 to be featured at KBIS next January in Las Vegas. Rob Cooper has been selected as one of the 30 Under 30 recipients by The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) for the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show 2016 (KBIS®), to be held January 19-21 in Las Vegas.

“For the fourth year in a row, we are excited to present our 30 Under 30 young professionals at KBIS 2016,” says Nancy Barnes, NKBA Director of Learning. “Each year we continue to be delighted by the success of the program, which brings together a group of bright, enthusiastic twenty-something entrepreneurs, forward-thinking CEOs, and cutting-edge designers. It is a privilege to work with them, and I’m looking forward to seeing them in Las Vegas.”

The goal of the NKBA 30 Under 30 Program is to acknowledge outstanding young professionals, while helping these individuals to immerse and apply themselves to new opportunities for growth and development in support of the industry.

30 Under 30

Rob Cooper has been involved with the construction industry since 2002. Initially beginning his career as a carpenter in the United Kingdom, he went on to work for an international commercial construction company, assisting in the completion of some of the most advanced and innovative project designs in Europe and Scandinavia. He then transitioned into a sales and managerial role for a regional leader in lumber and material sales in the UK, while maintaining an active role in the family electrical contracting business.

In 2013, Rob moved to the U.S. after marrying wife, Sarah. After volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, he began to work for White Oak Construction in a sales and project management role. Rob was offered the position of Director of Business Development nine months later due to his ability to grow White Oak Construction's presence in the accessibility and home modification marketplace. In the last 18 months, White Oak Construction has become one of the largest installers of Medicaid, Vocational Rehabilitation and Aging in Place projects in the Midwest. He was awarded the CAPS (Certified Aging in Place Specialist) qualification and CGP (Certified Green Professional) qualification in 2014. Rob's continual involvement with all aspects of the construction process, from initial site consultations and estimating, to purchasing and project management, helps him to continually grow his knowledge base. He will be a speaker at KBIS 2016, as one of the 'Voices From The Industry'.

Rob would like to see the current trend continue with regards to Aging in Place home modifications, and expand into surrounding states throughout 2016. Working with the country’s leading manufacturers and installers, Rob and White Oak Construction continue to innovate and expand in this continually growing market.

“After just 2 years of living in the US, it is a great honor to be selected as one of the 30 Under 30’s. I hope that I will be able to continually contribute to the construction industry’s growth in Indianapolis and help others become more knowledgeable on topics that, at the moment, are somewhat forgotten.”

On Wednesday, January 20, 2016, the group of 30 young professionals will present their findings on the Las Vegas show floor in a presentation for KBIS 2016 show attendees. They will share the results of their explorations and answer questions from the audience.
